Good Points
Well priced.
AMD Live! functionality.
Supports 32-bit and 64-bit software platforms.
Peace of Mind from AMD.
A great competitor to Intel's matching performance CPUs.

Bad Points
Not one of the more popular Athlon 64 (X2 or other) models.
Not a lot of support in the box (if you by it uniquely).

General Comments
When I was upgrading to Windows Vista, I was informed that I didn't need any new hardware. Nevertheless, I still got the AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+!

One of the most fundamental things that I did was to replace my AMD Athlon XP 2400+ CPU with this new AMD 64-bit architecture CPU. Everyone has heard of them, but for some reason I ended up with one of the value-for-money targeted and less-popular models of the range.

But, still, I've regretted it to NO degree!

Installation is easy, as is the case with all modern AMD processors. It's simply a matter of pushing it in, clipping it down with the socket handle and then installing the heat sinc (which is the hardest part). After that, all the usability of the CPU that is necessary is defaulted to on and you can use the hardware immediately!

When you've got an OS installed, you will be happy to find that - if you install the most recent AMD drivers (likely supplied on a motherboard installation disc) - this CPU supports AMD Cool 'n' Quiet technology. This cleverly gets your pc to monitor the CPU solely and adjust advanced settings to suit its environment on a process-by-process basis. What's even greater is that you can monitor all of this activity with AMD-produced software designed for this exact technology!

CPU specs are more than average. You get two cores both running at 2gHz each, so you get plenty of processing power. Plus that dual-core integration means that there's no need for hanging around when multitasking with many different programs and background processes.

AMD also allows for quick and easy registration of your new product via it's website and thereon you'll be pleased to have the AMD guarntee to fall back on if ever you have suspicians about the product or in the unlikely event that something goes wrong with it.

Overall, a spiffing processor; it needs to get more widely noted!
