Good Points
None that I can find.

Bad Points
Poor channel separation. Remote delay. Only 30 minutes pause. No picture-in-picture. Occasional hard disc lock up. Clunky EPG.

General Comments
After a couple of returned purchases of Grundig PVRs due to lock up, I decided to play safe and pay more for less but with the Sony brand name. My mistake. The SVR-S500 is overpriced, poorly designed and will make me think twice before buying anything with Sony on it again.
