Sony Bravia KDL-46EX703

Very good example of a well thought out Slimline LED TV. I got this as a replacement under insurance from a broken KDL46W2000 and I didn't think the picture on the new TV could be such an improvement!

Crystal clear HD video+picture plaback and amazing blacks. The speakers will not blow you away, but you can't really expect them to given how slim this TV is, nevertheless they produce rich and clear highs and satisfactory lows (they do rumble if pushed too far).

The menu system is the best on any manufacturer (I've tested all the main brands). Very intuitive system and it's copied over from the Playstation 3's menu system which is tried and tested. No lag in the menu interface either - which is refreshing as it's common to have a flashy menu that takes a few seconds to register each button press...

Looks-wise, well I think it's beautiful. Beaten only by a couple of Sony's monolithic style LCD/LED sets. Mind you, don't be fooled, they are the same TV chassis as this model - just with a glass panel stuck to the front.

Four HDMI ports are useful, although the two on the side are awkward if you have a thick and uncompromising HDMI cable - as it sticks out from the edge.

Sony's motionflow technology is very good too. I'm tired of seeing 'new technologies' being trumpeted around, but when you actually look at a side-by-side comparison there's barely any difference. Not the case with the motionflow. Three settings (Off, Standard & High) allow you to really see the difference when watching fast moving video's. Although I haven't quite made my mind up whether it works well for computer games.

All round amazing set that looks beautiful, well equipped, solid Brand make and doesn't have a ridiculous price tag.
