“I visited the Sharmi & Joseph beauty salon in Windsor...”

Good Points
The girls seem friendly enough that work there.

Bad Points
The salon is run down and dirty. Certificates displayed date back to the 1970's - hardly up to date. Treatment rooms were cramped and dark (how can a beautician see what they are doing?). The owner tries to push products on you constantly. She continually tried to sell me laser hair removal - which I did not need. She also told me that all her products are organic, which they are not. There are tip pots laid out at reception, and one of these is for the owner herself. I found this very distasteful, as tips are meant for those lesser paid members of staff.

General Comments
I visited the Sharmi & Joseph beauty salon in Windsor 5 times in total, as I was undergoing a course of treatment. On a couple of occasions I voiced my concerns that I felt the treatment was not fully complete. Only to be told that I was imagining it. The treatment was hair removal, and I think I can tell whether there is hair left in an area or not. On one occasion I had booked a half hour treatment, when I arrived at the salon the owner was on the phone to her accountant, and I was left waiting for 15 minutes while she finished this call. After 15 minutes of the treatment I was told by her that my treatment was complete. I returned home and looked in the mirror, only to find a substantial amount of hair left in the area. I called her to voice my concerns, and I was told that the hairs were ingrowing. I replied that clearly they were not, as some were up to 1cm long. I was told I had the option of booking another 15 minute appointment. I was happy to do this until I realised I was going to be charged the full rate for this time. The fee for 15 minutes is £15, whereas 30 minutes is £20. So you can see 2 x 15 minute appointments pockets her an extra £10. This was not the first time I had booked a half hour only to be given 15 minutes.

I have since found another salon in the area, which is wonderful, and I will not be going anywhere near Sharmi & Joseph in Windsor again.
