General Comments
Well it's that time of year... whether you love it or hate it, Big Brother has once again inflicted itself upon the summer schedule and last night saw the introduction of yet another assortment of unlikely reprobates.

A mixed bag of characters including a 60 year old ex recruitment exec, a hippy raver and a self proclaimed 'it' girl who appears more like a celebrity hanger-on should ensure some serious clashes of personality.

Big Brother appears to have also adopted usual mind games by placing kitchen utilities in unusual settings and providing little space for housemates to get any privacy. In addition to this, there is an 'interesting' twist - all of the housemates so far are women.

Ok so all of this may make for some interesting TV, but the whole setup of this year's show (and indeed past series') leads me to think that it is becoming more and more contrived and obvious and that maybe should quit while it's ahead.

The highlight of the show for me had to be the audience chanting 'get a job' as one of the girls entered the house. Other than that, the show lacked it's good points. I personally think the producers have made an error with the selection of contestants; the thought of watching a bunch of cackling women battle for airspace for the next 11 weeks or so is not an appealing one, and will most probably be steering clear.

Then again, there is an eviction and the introduction of a male housemate this friday... Damn.

I agree, but I'd rattle those twins like one of my little nephews toys!

I agree in the beginning it was a some kind of 'social experiment' it's become a vehicle for talentless wannabe's to gain their '15 minutes', the rest of the show is about making money from phone/text votes(people who waste money on voting are obviously not paying enough tax in my opinion.) The show in many ways is summarised by the host, Davina McCall, a near talentless individual who has pushed her limited abilities to get where she is. Come on Channel 4 bosses, this show has become very 'long in the tooth' and should be put out of its misery.

I think Big Brother should have quit while it was ahead and still interesting viewing, it used to be based on a group of some what 'normal' people and their interactions within a house, its too manipulated and predictable with too many annoy people, hardly the best mixture for viewing.
