Good Points
Old time charming surroundings.
Bad Points
It costs £5 to pay in the patrons car park, hang on, isn't that just like paying twice?
General Comments
My husband organised a Christmas party for over 200 staff at the Queen's Hotel and so we had a very nice room, it was foggy that night and the whole place had a glorious pre-Christmas Victorian feel about it.
The meal was hot and tasty, quite an achievement for 200 covers. The bar prices were definitely for the tea-totaller with a Jack Daniels and Coke priced at £4!
All was well until they gave us the Honeymoon suite, OK but there actually were real honeymooners in it! Very embarrassing but as it was Christmas we just laughed it off. May have been the Christmas spirit!
Check out was not so funny when they slap an extra £5 on you just to park your car in their private car park overnight, why do these hotels just want to squeeze the very last penny out of their guests?
Breakfast was a plated full English with a buffet continental. Good quality local sausages and bacon, also liked the real honeycomb to put onto the fresh croissants. Coffee was awful, you know the type, so strong you have to add a pint of milk and then it's iced coffee.
Over priced but nice for a shopping experience. I think they offer the use of the gym but it's about 2 miles away so those without a car get the workout before they get there.
