Gupshill Manor in Tewkesbury has just had a major renovation. We all know what happens when that happens; prices go up and service goes down! More people are gonna come right? They've heard the hype and they want to see for themselves....and spend their money! WHY do restauranteurs not employ more staff to cover this initial period?
Our experience of the Gupshill has always been super fresh food with an imaginative chef. Now it was surly staff and 2 out of 3 orders incorrect. Quality has been replaced with quantity. Also, the kitchen right out onto the garden is a bad idea, particularly when the fire doors are open. Still, at least from the overheard loud conversations between the chefs, we knew when our food was about to be started!
A business lunch that took 2 hours for one main meal; having to face the boss on return; and then stay late to make up for it. That just sucks!
Shame really. Won't return; who needs to when there are so many places to eat
these days?
