pj912's review of BenQ-Siemens EF61 Mia

“The clock on my phone broke within a month of owning...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by pj912 on 11/05/2007

Good Points
Looks nice! That's the only good point I can think of!

Bad Points
Clock broke within a month of owning the phone.
Takes lots of key presses to carry out a simple task.
Camera is poor.

General Comments
The clock on my phone broke within a month of owning it. As it's out of the initial 28 day warranty I had to go directly to Siemens. They told me I'd have to send it to them for repair. Still waiting over a week later! Not what I'd call good service!

I don't know if this is a general fault or just me! When texting, if you type a word that it doesn't recognise, you have to type it in the dictionary. Great, I hear you say! But... every time you switch it off, it loses everything in the dictionary!

The supposed 1.3 mega pixel camera is nowhere near the quality of my last phone which had a VGA camera. The only time it takes a half decent photo is in sunlight. But even then, due to the "mirror" you can't see what you're taking! The mirror is a good idea in theory but as soon as you get a small amount on sunlight reflected onto the screen, it turns into the mirror. You can adjust the brightness settings but it's still not great.

I had my first Mia stolen when I'd only had it for 3 weeks so I naively bought another one to replace it. I wish I hadn't bothered!
