General Comments
Upon it's much anticipated release, FarCry boasted graphics better than any other game of the time.
Playing with a powerful graphics card, more than 5 years on the graphics are still considerably good. Lines are smooth, and 3D models are nicely designed with a hybrid of styles - appearance is both cartoon like, but also realistic - an example being the water effects.
The main problem with this game is the poor narrative. I've completed FarCry twice now, and it's safe to say that it wasn't any deeper the second time around.
FarCry also turns out to be a completely different single player experience than expected. In the latter half of the game, the world of FarCry becomes much, much darker and more confusing with the introduction of an excessive level of monsters.
The action factor of this game is pretty good, but gameplay feels shallow more times than not, and the multiplayer mode doesn't have much to offer, although it is fun in the same way that an arcade is - simple fun and the fight for survival.
I would recommend this game to anyone who's looking for a new action adventure game, but who doesn't want to completely immerse themselves.
