Volkswagen Polo GT Review

Good Points
Most of the road tests I have read for this car, ( mine is a GT 130 PD ), don't reflect all the qualities of it's performance. I think this must be due to the test vehicles not being fully run in.
Up to about 7500 miles the car is somewhat unresponsive and very tight, and also very gearing sensitive on the transmission. But now loosened up the car has become a glorious little whizzer, much better even that the Series 1 Golf GT.

Bad Points
Headlight are not powerful enough. AND I have increased the bulb strength by 50% and it's still not enough. The smart alloys with low profile tyres make them very vulnerable to high kerbs when parking.

General Comments
The general body finish and quality of fittings on the Volkswagen Polo GT are really superb. This particular car will become the benchmark for all other manufacturers. And I speak as a retired motor dealer of some 50 yrs experience.
