Ford Mondeo 2.5i V6 24v Ghia X Review

Good Points
Quick, comfortable, very practical, reliable...... so far! leather, nice drive, power heated seats, sat nav, etc. All the toys for a bargain basement price!

Bad Points
Wind noise, bad consumption (but what do you expect from a 2.5 V6?). Tacky interior plastics, front wheel drive....

General Comments
Surprised by this car, thought it would be a fairly depressing, boring thing to own, more utilitarian than something I'd actually want to drive, bought as a 2nd car, but wow! It's actually good....very good!

Extremely cheap 2nd hand, the sheer number of Ford Mondeos on the market mean it's a very good buy once it's done the bulk of it's depreciating, and it can embarrass my Lexus in a straight line.

Drives very well indeed, if it had a German badge people would be raving about it, tacky plastics and a cheap looking dash let it down a bit inside but this is more than made up for by the cheap servicing and initial buying costs. Also it looks very nice and a cut above the usual 'Rep cars' in black (when clean, which isn't often!) with the 18" alloys.

Put it this way....compare it to the so called 'premium' cars in the same 2nd hand price range and it really does embarrass the sort of asthmatic, high mileage, ageing BMW 316is etc. that are in the same bracket.
