General Comments
I bought the Canon EOS 400D camera a week ago to replace my Fuji FinePix S5500 which had served me well, for my railway and aviation shots. Have to say I am very impressed with what I have seen so far!

I am new to the Digital SLR field but the EOS 400D is really easy to set up and use which rested my fears about taking weeks to get used to. The picture quality is superb and the auto and manual settings means that you are in total control of what picture you want to take. It is light and great to handle and carry around all day!

The cleaning sensor facility within the camera is great, especially if you intend to swap lenses a lot, like me. I've since bought a Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 lens because I find that the supplied 18-55mm lens is a bit too small for my needs.

The only bad things are that it isn't cheap as of March 2007. £450-500 is what this camera is going for at the minute, although I should know better after using 'bridge' cameras for a few years now. Another bad thing is that the viewfinder doesn't stick out meaning that your nose is right up to the screen and you're breathing on it. An adapter to fit to the camera is available from Canon to fix this problem.

Overall this is a smashing camera and it is a great camera for those who are upgrading to Digital SLRs or those who expect a little but more from their investment.
