Good Points
Awesome sweet tone. Easy to tune, and stays in tune. Looks great. Construction is soild as a rock.
Bad Points
Bass drum could be a bit louder. That may be down to my poor tuning skills! I'm not one of those geeks that spends hours over each drum. I probably need to spend some more time on kick though.
General Comments
Bought a Yamaha Beech Custom shell pack off ebay (10" 12" 14" 22") for a great price. Checked out what they would cost new, and it's still very reasonable. And this is the Uk where pretty much everything is expensive!
Slapped on some evans g2 heads, and with the absolute minimum of fuss, they toms sang sweet and clear. The constuction is amazing too- Japanese gear is probably the best in the world.!!
Recorded a demo with my band not long after I got the kit, and the results were night and day compared with my Tama Rockstar. Just perfect. I am now a Yamaha convert. I would recommend this kit to anyone. If you are looking to upgrade to a pro level kit, then you MUST check this out. Sounds as good as anything else, but is half the price. Dont fall for slick advertising and shiny magazine ads, most of the top level stuff is way over rated. Trust me, I've tried a lot of them!!!
Long live Yamaha!!!!

Hi Helmet do you mind if I ask how much you paid for your shell pack on ebay? Do you know how much a Beech Custom went for new?
