Rent for Less Tasmania charged us for a scratch we didn't make and didn't bother to tell us they were going to charge us a fortune even though we had insurance. Take photos of every panel, before and after you use the vehicle, and don't let them do this to you too! They absolutely ruined our holiday.

Hired a suzuki alto from rentforless for a week. Car looked ok but found out later 2 front tyres borderline, 2 rear illegal, bald and with splits (Tracking was also off). One tyre went flat on us and was beyond repair so was told to get new one. Wasted a day looking but no tyres available in Tasmania-awkward size (prob why they didnt bother sorting out before hire). Got back to depot after going days with no spare and 3 dodgy tyres for 3 days. Told to go to supplier who they had organised a tyre with, no luck, wrong size.

Handed back car and told the staff about poor condition of tyres who agreed to refund my bond as the tyre was not servicable on hire (note no apology). I am still to see my bond repaid, have sent emails and no response.

AVOID - bad cars, bad service, dishonest

This would have to be one of the most personalised rental companies in Aus. We were pleasantly surprised to experience such wonderful service from staff members, invaluable local knowledge and advice made our holiday something special. Everything was explained thoroughly at booking so we had no unpleasant surprises on arrival. The pick up from our hotel made life easy and airport return likewise. There was a $33 charge to leave at the airport but even so that's cheaper than a cab. We booked a Hyundai i30(brand new)which was perfect for us, would have loved the Mini convertible but maybe next time?

The main reason we chose Rentforless was that we were allowed to take it on Bruny Island, other companies won't allow this which is such a pity because it is well worth the visit. Well done guys, we'll be back and will highly recommend!

We had the best experience in Tassie with having rented a Mini Cooper Covertible from a local company, Rentforless. Although we had booked a Corolla, the cost to upgrade was too good to pass up and really put the icing on the cake for our touring holiday. Would certainly recommend these guys and compared to the experience we had last year with a major company, we've got to give them 5 stars.

My family and I hired a vehicle from Rentforless in Hobart for 2 weeks in January. The vehicle was new (reg in Dec 09) and well presented. Booking online provided us a rate almost half what the multinational companies had to offure!

The staff provided us with directions and even helped us plan our trip! Something that no other car rental company has ever help me with. When the car was collected however there was not a tank of fuel, but I just returned it with the same level and there where no additional charges.

Do NOT use rentforless rental company. They will charge you the price of a full tank for refuelling, even though the car is returned full of fuel. Also, they will charge 35 dollars for cleaning an otherwise spotless vehicle - i did clean it, and they still tacked on the charges. Further, charges continue to appear on my credit card which are totally unexplained. This company is truly RentforMuchMore than a reputable company. Stay away!
