Good Points
Brilliantly cast characters, who seemed totally comfortable with their roles. All give excellent performances.
Simple, classic Bond plot, with a gripping twist, setting it apart from other Bonds.
Engaging Bond girl, who for once can actually fight for herself and help significantly.
Bad Points
Xenia is a slightly odd character, with a very strange, if not silly method of killing people.
General Comments
Pierce Brosnan's stunning debut arguably delivers the greatest James Bond film of all. From the explosive opening sequence to the shocking twist, held together by a strong plot, Pierce Brosnan showed the series a new, sharper Bond in Goldeneye, who easily topped even the likes of Sean Connery. The excellently cast Alec, played by Sean Bean, is the ally turned enemy, who easily satisfies the Bond criteria with his money stealing, revenge based character, helped by a small, deep and well rounded set of cronies. Goldeneye smashes all other Bond films, hands down.
