General Comments
I had used a Nokia 6210 & Siemens ME45 before. I buy this C55 for fun. Lots of the menus are similar to ME45, except for addressbook & monthly-view-calendar.
THUMBS UP:
- VOICE DIAL, COMMAND, RECORD: VDial up to 20 entries. These options are not available at the latest, more expensive Nokia 6610, 7210, 6100, (and 7250 I believe). Find out for yourself, you'll be surprised.
- PROFILE: 8 categories, customizable to different environment. DYNAMIC VIBRATE with Light Effects: Helicopter, UFO, Shock, Mosquito, Train. A POWERFUL VIBRATION WITH DIFFERENT KINDS OF RYTHM & LIGHT STRIKES.
- CALLER GROUP: 8 different caller groups. You can set different kinds of ringtone for each. Exactly like Nokia.
- APPOINTMENT/ORGANIZER: With alarm interval daily, weekly, monthly, annual.
- GPRS: Class 8.
- LITHIUM BATT: 700mAh. I am quite a heavy sms user. It lasts 3 days with non-stop 24hr standby.
- EXPRESS ON COVER: Suit your lifestyle.
- GREAT SIGNAL: Impressive, based on my experience with Nokia 6210 & Siemens ME45.
- GREAT PRICE!!
THUMBS DOWN:
- Phone memory: only 50 entries in phone. Wish Siemens could upgrade it to an addressbook for the next version.
- No monthly-view-calendar.
CONCLUSION: THE BEST PHONE IN ITS MARKET CATEGORY.
