This Is My 5th Breville. They Have All Broken Dow
This is my 5th Breville. They have all broken down after daily use in less than 6 months. Breville knows of the design flaw. I find it on every review site. After a 3-4 months it sometimes doesn't work. The light goes on, but no pressure, steam or water; just a trickle. Then this problem increased until it doesn't work at all. I went through 3 Breville 800 model's and 2 Breville programmable models. All failed. I notice that the people who write good reviews have only had it for a short time or are infrequent users. Do not buy this. It is expensive to fix and the problem will only happen again. Luckily the store I bought it from replaced it 5 times, but Breville is known not to be helpful. I know because I have called. I think steam is getting into the circuit board area (local espresso repair person's explanation).

The Nearest Repair Facility Is Four Hours Away And
The nearest repair facility is four hours away and the cost of shipping such a heavy item back and forth, plus the unknown cost of the repair itself would exceed what it's worth to keep the Breville 800ESXL Espresso. Breville refuses to sell me the parts directly to be able to fix this myself. It's a simple matter of a circuit board that has blown out and would take me a few minutes to repair. Instead they expect me to pay $50 shipping each way to send it to another city and have to wait 4-6 weeks for the repair on top of that. I would be faced with a $200+ bill to repair a $400 machine. I will be instead buying a new machine and it will not be a Breville, nor will any other appliance I ever buy. And I was a person who formerly loved their products and bought many of them, but never ever again. It's a shame the company is so short sited that they cannot accommodate a customer and instead decide to lose decades of future business.
