Bad Points
Often, without notice, uses a very large amount of your PC's resources; this loss of performance is not acceptable.
Lengthy installation takes up all the computer resources.
Annoying and sometimes irrelevant messages from unwanted icon system tray.
Over-rides the Windows XP firewall with its "Internet Worm Protection".
Conditions for the upgrade to install absent.

General Comments
There are more efficient products available - check them first, and put this at the bottom of your list.

I bought an upgrade to AV2006 from AV2005 as it was cheaper than subscribing for another year's updates. Big mistake!

Norton AV2006 was slow to install, and the activation process didn't recognise my existing registration/account with Symantec, so I had to create another. The initial update was a 20Mb download which took longer to install than download. It took two reboots before everything was fully installed, and the first full virus check could be run.

Everything is now installed, but I find it keeps unnecessarily reminding me of its presence. Hiding or removing the annoying SysTray icon does not seem to be an option.
