Good Points
The promenade is great for cyclists, skateboarders and rollerbladers.

Bad Points
Very expensive (rides are tokens only), very crowded, traffic congestion was terrible and difficulty in find a parking space plus there were a lot of police everywhere.

General Comments
We went to Brighton earlier and were both very disappointed. On our way there going through the town, we could not believe the amount of traffic congestion in fact it was far worse than in Norwich where we came from. As soon as we found the seafront, it was an absolute nightmare trying to look for a parking space. When we eventually found a parking space after all the congestion (45 minutes later!) we decided to take a stroll onto the pier because as we are both thill seekers, we wanted to go on some rides. So after getting past crowds of people who were hardly moving, we arrived at the funfair, but to our horror before going on any rides and buying any tokens, all of the thrill rides cost £3 per person which meant £6 for the pair of us and the new 'Superbooster' ride cost £6 per person giving the grand total of £12 for the pair of us. Therefore we decided not to go on any rides at all because of the prices which to us were too high, even the prices at 'Fantasy Island' or your usual travelling funfairs are not as high as Brighton Pier. It is a pity that the Pier does not do value for money wristbands for all day fun. Tokens are only ok for people who only intend to spend an hour or two at the funfair, but the amount of tokens required was too just high. So we decided to call it a day from there and drive back to Norwich. We will not be going to Brighton again unless there is a motorbike run. So if you do plan to visit Brighton, it is best to leave the car at home and take the train or maybe a motorbike!

So, you went to a bustling, seaside town on one of the sunniest, hottest days of the year in a country which doesn't get enough hot sunny days and you're surprised and annoyed that everyone else in driving range of the place had the same idea as you? It's BRITAIN! When there's good weather people like to take advantage and so everyone goes to the beach! What were you expecting? That people should stay home so you could have an empty beach, a traffic free drive and no queues anywhere?

Of course i was not expecting an empty beach and no traffic, of course you are going to get alot of traffic, we have never been to Brighton before even this neck of the woods for that matter and the website was not exactly loaded with information. To us it was more of the expense of the funfair that dissapionted us, there is nothing wrong with the promenade, it was nice and clean, it's just that there were too many people dithering about on the promenade and pier,y ou obviously like crowds with very hot weather!
