Good Points
The shampooer worked great initially. We owned it for 4 years.

Bad Points
Poorly constructed, didn't last.

General Comments
We are currently looking for a new shampooer but we are not looking at Bissel products at all. The experience of using the Bissell Powerwash Proheat / 1698 Carpet Shampooer left us feeling that their products are poorly constructed for the price we paid. After two years of use, pieces began breaking off. The handle would not lock in the upright position. The suction became poor and left a lot of water in the carpet. The dirt collected inside and I was unable to get it out.
