No offence intended, but only an American could call these speakers compact! In the U.K, we (generally) have smaller homes than those of our U.S friends. But, i suppose they are smaller than floor-standers....

Yeah sorry. What i meant to imply is, if you feel you haven't the space to accomodate floor standing speakers. Make sure you're aware of just how large these speakers are for stand mounters. These need substantial stands or shelves 'cos they aren't small!
