Good Points
Overall a very strong design. You could run over this thing with a truck and it would still play in tune...well, maybe not. A good sounding horn with strong intonation, I would strongly recommend it to any beginner.

Bad Points
Really there aren't any obvious weaknesses. It is exactly what it should be, a student horn. I do know several top players who keep 23's for their backup horn.

General Comments
The Yamaha YAS-23 is a good horn without many bells and whistles. Great for a beginner, or for a pro looking for a backup horn.
