Candy GO1482

My Candy Go1482 stopped working after just 9 months. It would cut out halfway through a cycle, not spin or not drain water.

Hoover Candy engineer failed to solve the problem. He said water had been leaking onto the electrics. This must be a manufacturing fault.

Hoover Candy are refusing to replace the machine even though its only 9 months old.

Do not buy this machine. Also, awful customer service from Hoover Candy.

I had mine for 5 years and all went ok for the first 3 years then the bearings went in the drum. The bearins are incased in the tub which was the same price as a new 6kg machine so we had it put into an insurance plan and sorted it that way. Since the tub was done 18 months ago we have been through another 4 tubs, 2 boards, 2 harnesses, a heater, electric lead and the list goes on. It broke down twice in 5 weeks and this is where I am now. I have had an awful fight with the insurers but now they have agreed to write the machine off. In other words the free parts for 5 years has expired and now the insurers are liable to pay themselves. The repair would have been nearly £600. this time but they would have still got it repaired if it was under 5 years!!

Unfortunately I have to have another Candy which is not my choice, but I guess a working machine is better than none.

We bought this 5 years ago and it still works like a dream. Love the short cycle for freshening clothes and spin cycles are good too. Clothes spend half the time in the dryer. It's seen us through the birth of our wee boy and the mountains of washing that comes with a new baby and the toddler years. Would highly recommend and will be disappointed when it does need replaced (hopefully not for a very long time). Would definitely buy candy again.,.never thought I'd say that after staying faithful to another, more expensive brand before!

I have bought it one year ago and was happy for good price. Problems started after 3 months. There was always something wrong and I had to call customer service. Although repair was quick, in few months washing machine went wrong again. I wanted to return money but it wasn't possible. At least I am glad that warranty is still covering it. I don't know what I will have to pay when warranty is gone. Then I think will buy a new washing machine, but certainly it won't be candy anymore.

We bought this in Jan 2008,Washer has always worked perfectly until now,No problems for 4 years,Now the pump has just gone,Candy want £120 to come out to repair it even though its still covered on 5 year parts warranty,So I will buy pump and fit it myself,Looks simple enough,I must be lucky after reading other reviews for this machine.

Having read all the reviews on the GO1482 I can only agree - machine went wrong in less than a year and has now gone wrong again in less than 6 months after it was repaired. The customer service was and is rubbish - I would never ever buy a candy product again and never recommend one to anyone. p.s. If you do ring to speak to someone there is never a manager available !! Candy just do not want to know - taking further !!!!

I have bought the washing Machine 1 Year ago. It first broke down after 3

Month. The Elekronik and the Pump were exchanged. Now the Machine is broke

again. The shock absorbers!!. Wouldn't buy it again. oh the repair cost me all together £100. The only reason why I didn't buy a new machine is that i couldn't afford to pay at least £250 for a nother 8kg. The wash quality is very good.

i brought i candy go 292 waschine machine in april 2009 had it for aobut 4 month kept stoping thorugh cycle on most settings . had engineer out in july who replaced motherboard or something on mashine . solved the proplem for about 5 months now same thing is happening again . brought it from comets and they are going to repair it again . i am very dissapointed in this maschine paid 350 for it . have asked comets to replace it with other mashine but they are teliing me that they will not do that till it goes wrong 3rd time . i think it is one big joke . the are replacing same stuff on it . but engineer who came out told me on some of candy mashines like that there is a common fault with the slelector thing . but comets are trying to pm me of they better do something or i will be dumping it in one of there shops lol

Sometimes reading all these reviews can be tiresome and quite boring,but we all do it because we dont want to waste our hard earnt money-I did the same. So to make this very quick, DO NOT BUY a CANDY GO 1482 it will break down after approx 16 months, the spin cycle will die, you'll find the water not emptying ect. The people with the excellent reviews have only just bought theirs - I'd have wrote the same a few months ago!

We've owned a Candy GO1482 for about 18 months the electricity panel went on it after 1 year but thankfully it was still under guarantee now 6 months later it has completely broken, the only sign we had was that it kept stopping half way through the spin cycle and now doesn't work at all - apparantly a common fault!!
