Shalimar The Clown by Salman Rushdie is what some would deem one of his greatest works since The Satanic Verses.
Although it is well written, it is a little slow, especially at the beginning. It took some perseverance for me to continue reading this, but I am glad I did, as the story picks up pace in the second half of the book, and from there-on-in I couldn't put it down.
