MC PressFlesh.'s review of Magix Music Maker 7.0

★★★★★

“After sorting through dozens of bad sound fonts...”

Written on: 23/02/2003 by MC PressFlesh. (1 review written)

Good Points
Easy to program drum machine and synth emulators with lots of great sounds.

Bad Points
With all the sounds already made, it could be easy to make music with no originality. Also, the scratching emulator is bad. Unlike Cakewalk, there's no midi programing. You can import midi, however. I haven't patched it yet, but it is a little buggy, with crashes and silence.

General Comments
After sorting through dozens of bad sound fonts (albeit free), I finally found a program that has the sounds I want. Music Maker comes with easy to program drum machine and synth emulators with lots of great sounds. It comes with lots of wave samples. Also many effects via a rack of modules.Unlike Cakewalk, Magix kept the program simple and easy to use. There's a bit to learn, but it's not overwhelming. Importing cds and other files is all drag and drop. Recording takes just two clicks.

I found it most helpful. Since then I have come across Music Maker dance edition with all the features of the Deluxe version of the Music Maker 2003 with different samples! Useful websitre www.musicfreestyle.com
