Good Points
Inexpensive for a HOTAS unit
Flexible software configuration
Looks cool and has excellent grip surfaces

Bad Points
Too many hats, not enough buttons
Button layout on top of stick is a bit tight
Stick is too stiff on left/right axis

General Comments
The Saitek X45 PC game controller is great value, but it is not appropriate for every single game (which is a big shame).

Installation was no problem, but sometimes on my XP machine the software wouldn't load into my systray on boot up. I ought to get the latest driver (not the shipped one), but it's not that big a deal, and I can still launch the software with a couple of mouse clicks.
