Persepolis

Persepolis is a beautiful movie in every way. Funnier than a lot of comedies, and so touching. The story is so engaging - and everything played out in some of the best animation i have ever seen. Two movies I've seen this year that I would count within my all time favourites this and Lust Caution. Both left me speechless, gorgeous.

The intensity of emotions communicated by means of black and white cartoons. You can experience the history of Iran from the perspective of a real child/teenager/woman overcoming all obstacles.

I recommend this filmed based on the comic by Marjane Satrapi, also the main character of the film, to all people interested in cartoon techniques, Iran and sweet and sour dramas.
