“FIFA 06 is the best football game by a country mile......”

★★☆☆☆

Good Points
Licencing, Graphics, Soundtrack

Bad Points
Lack of fluid movement, extremely unrealistic opposition movement, and extremely annoying commentary.

General Comments
FIFA 06 is the best football game by a country mile... but only in terms of licencing.

Yes, these aspects are amazing, but this is a FOOTBALL game, not an advertising billboard, and the fluid motion of real football is virtually non-existent in the game.

Players from Boston United can outrun World class stars from Juventus, and to string even half a dozen passes together is nearly impossible, with opposition players moving with lightning speed reactions to take the ball off you, despite them starting form 10 feet away from the ball.

The game is hugely frustrating at times, with the opposition just running through you and gaining possession, where in the real world of football this simply would not happen.

AI is utterly terrible: you can just run after an opposing player, and they will run with the ball out of play with no attempt to pass or avoid putting the ball out.

I have bought the last 5 FIFA games, but I am now going to convert to PES5, purely because it is a BETTER game than EA Sports' product.

Overall, If you want a good football game that looks nice buy FIFA; if you want realistic and fluent football, wait for PES5!!
