General Comments
I bought a Tomtom Go 700 in August - just after they came out. This version has a built in hard drive which stores maps for all of Europe.
I use it for work on a daily basis (I visit up to ten different residential addresses a day) and can honestly say that my map books have not been used since the day I got the TT Go!
In the summer, I set the destination to the small village in the South of France that we were towing our caravan to and just drove.
Everyone else in the car could go to sleep! BUT...the unit is only as good as the map database and this proved to be patchy (esp in France where the unit was determined to send us along a motorway that was still being built).
I have had no problems in the UK though. In fact, you have to learn to trust it when you get to your destination. It often brings me to a specific house which may not have a name board or number - and I used to carry on to check numbers on the neighbouring houses, now I don't bother - the TT is usually right.
It has loads of extra features, such as itinerary planning (visiting lots of places one after another - which seems a bit clunky) and the ability to connect to a Bluetooth mobile, and download route information via a mobile - but I can't get that to work (my phone isn't compatible - although its a common one).

Incidently, many retailers will tell you that if your car has a heated windscreen, you will need an external aerial for the Tomtom.
I drive a Mondeo with a heated screen and can categorically say that the TT works fine.
You only need the external antenna if you have a heat reflective screen (mainly Renaults, I think).
On the whole, I am delighted with the TT Go 700.
