Good Points
Best graphics
Best games
Most comfortable controller
Internal hard drive, (no need for a memory card)
Four controller ports instead of two like the PS2
You can save your music onto the hard drive and play it during games
Bad Points
It's a little big
Once the system gets old, it is really really noisy
General Comments
I bought my Xbox about a year after it came out. I have played it a lot, and it still works fine!!
BUY ONE! They are worth the money!

First off, the Xbox does not have the best games. It has a few really awesome games (like Halo, Jade Empire) and the rest either suck royally or are barely acceptable. Just because your system hasn't broken down doesn't mean everyone else's will. I have already been through two Xbox's because the forst one broke down. I had it for 3 months! Anyway, Xbox's are known to break down fairly often. Lastly, the range of games is not good. If you don't like FPS's, the Xbox's range is crap. So, either way, the Xbox isn't a 10/10.

I didnt get mine when they first came out but I've had my xbox for approx... 2/half years now. Received new, honestly hand on heart: never had ANY problems with it. If any unit isn't defective from purchase and it`s used excessively (as the homes main dvd player + gaming), or if it`s left on pause for endless hours- obviously, you're going to experience trouble after 2 years!

Consider:- The Xbox was designed purely as a superlative games machine. Microsoft incorporated extra dvd features as a last minute decision due to competition / consumer demand. The cd components are still apparently much better quality than the ps2's- Even Industrial Pioneer equipment wouldnt withstand the kind of repeated usage average xbox's endure. They do develop slow loading problems & get noisy with time but thats mostly when they've been abused /overworked.

All you need for confirmation that these things are played into the ground is a quick glance at the second-hand market. Everybody`s seen consoles with stickers & bluetack over the vents, controller wires wrapped in sellotape & disks which look as though they've been sandblasted because of those stupid "restore kits". Anyone with two tartrazine fuelled children that stuff toast in the family vcr
also know what I'm saying. Despite an isolated problem with a fire hazard batch- these consoles are really durable if treated carefully - that means: Vents musnt be covered up, unit musnt be constantly moved/ unplugged & ALL chocolate fingered kids must be bound-up and made to watch from a distance of 200 yards !

For goodness sakes, they don’t breakdown easily! They have an excellent track record! Psx hold the all-time title for poor durability. If you keep them dust/knock free they last for years. Game cubes have a good track record but this is mainly because their owners put them away in the closet & refuse to look at them until granny visits.

If your Xbox is older than its warranty - installing a quieter fan, (even with a noisy motor) greatly reduces levels. Could even mod it with a few fancy lights, add a new alloy shell or chip it & install a custom HD to store full games on. Plenty of great deals online at affordable prices. You don’t have to be an expert to take them apart either- make the most of it while its still in production & look out for some great games over this christmas.

i know that most xbox`s do have a tendency to break down, but mine hasnt, and i have a bunch of friends that have them that also didnt break down, and the range of games is acually pretty good, and games that you can get on all systems,(PS2,Gamecube,xbox) are better on the xbox, any thats all ive got to say about it, i think its the best system out, but thats just my opinion. feel free to comment again.
