I'm On My Fourth One Now.

Its just so practical it makes it difficult for me to give serious consideration to buying anything else. I change my car

every two years or so and bought my first S-Max when they first came out and it has weaned me off buying Mondeos. Each has been a 2 litre diesel, each a titanium (or was it originally a ghia, not sure now), and the latest a 160 bhp instead of 140 bhp like the first three. Maybe I've just been lucky but I've not had any problems with any of them. I've carried a three seater settee, two double bed mattresses, and a small motorcycle - separately of course :-) without having to dismantle or modify any item in any way.

My annual milage is around 6,000 miles mainly short journies and I get about 43 miles to the gallon (diesel). It handles like a dream, is pretty quick and fun to drive and can be converted from being anything from 2 to 7 seats in literally 30 seconds. I would say though if you need 7 seats on a regular basis you might be better off with a Galaxy as I wouldn't want to travel in the two rearmost seats except on a short journey or unless I were a child.

So what can I find to moan about? ....well ...erm ... a spare wheel would be nice and because there is no lip, sometimes you have to take care opening the tailgate or something is liable to drop out. Anything else? ... yeah it can be a bit of a pain having to stand on steps to reach/clean the roof :-)
