Good Points
Not many about.
Love the rear spoiler.
If you haven't got a smile on your face when you get in the car, you will have when you've been for a drive! Go somewhere like Wales or Scotland. Ever wondered why EVO magazine test their cars in Wales? Drive your VR6 there to find out!
The standard headlights are poor, but great if you have the Brian Ricketts Motorsport loom fitted. Then you can have 400 watts on main beam. Don't go higher than that though, as the headlamp units are made of plastic!
Bad Points
The ignition pack had to be replaced twice; at 50k and again at 100k. The first time was under extended warranty; the second time, VW contributed £100 towards the cost of the replacement, as the car has full VW service history, and only one owner.
The exhaust was expensive to replace, but some nice chap allowed me to claim on his insurance, when his car decided it wanted to mate with my exhaust pipe! Thanks friend!
Some grief was caused with the ignition key recognition coil, which meant that the engine would fire up and then immediately stall. It works fine now after a new coil was fitted.
General Comments
I bought my black pearlescent Volkswagen Corrado VR6, new in March 1996 (N-reg). I intended to keep it for 5 years, but I still own it! That's how good the VR6 has been!!
