General Comments
Ok where to start? I initally got this phone because of the long lead time on the T68i on Vodaphone, free I might add. Ou of the box it is the same as any Nokia, very easy to use, fast and stylish. It was a definite improvement over the T28 I used to have and probably a little better that my Alcatel Onetouch 511. Despite the X press on covers it felt much better than the Alcatel.
I was incredibly impressed by the text message capacity, and the T9 dictionary, as well as the games. Also it has a wealth of features, including organiser, alarm clock, radio all which are great, but that the alcatel has as well. A little dissapointment was the lack of polyphonic ringtones as the Alcatel had all of these.
But one thing I did notice was the difference in reception. I went from being able to talk for hours on end to breaks every 10 minutes, and often total loss of signal unless I was at the highest point in my house. So I ordered an exchange after 3 days for the T68i.
>The T68i still hasn't arrived, 3 month later!! And I have many problems. Most mornings the SIM card does not register, the phone consistantly switches off when trying to text message, and the reception has gotten worse. The sound quality is also not as good as either of my two other phones.
Both my brothers have the same problems excepth worse reception as they are on Orange. Let me assure you that the phone is still in perfect condition, with no scratchees on it and has not been dropped.
So I have again requested a T68i and have again been refused as they are still awaiting delivery, and have now excepted the Sharp GX 10. I will wait and see how this performs compared to my Alcatel. I know I have said that the Alcatel is great and most of you are probably asking why I don't just go back to it, I would if I hadn't given it to a friend who has no phone.
If Nokia managed to sort out the reliability, life span and reception on this phone it would be great. Otherwise it's pretty useless after a few months.
