General Comments
The Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDDi 115 LX 5dr is a nice car to drive i bought it in 2003 brand new and the only problem i've had is the clutch and flywheel at 70,000 miles. I am on my third one now and no one can find the cause of the problem.

I bought my 05 registered 2.0 TDCI 115 bhp 17 months ago with 16K on the clock. It was bought as a caravan puller since it had got good reviews from various caravan magazines. The car now has 26K on the clock and a clutch which is just about to disintegrate and has had the clutch master cylinder replaced. The clutch is not covered by the warranty and is going to cost me £600 to replace. The main dealers were completely unsympathetic and reckoned that towing with this vehicle would guarantee a clutch failure. They also hinted that my driving style - 'you might be riding the clutch sir' might have contributed to the problem. Another recurring fault was that whenever I used the cigarette lighter socket to charge my phone, the fuse blew. The main dealer's solution, leave the charger in permanently since taking it out caused the socket to earth and blow the fuse! Needless to say, I will never buy another Ford and would not recommend this car to anyone.

I agree with this review because my experience regarding clutch problems is even worse, mine went at 26K, no sympathy at all from main dealers, clutch not covered by warranty so will cost me £600 to replace. Told by dealers that since I'd used the car to tow a caravan (about 1200 miles over 17 months), the warranty would have been invalidated anyway!
