Good Points
Er, None really.
Bad Points
Cable rewind clutch fails; cable frays in cable drum; filter needs frequent washing to maintain suction (who says bagless is good!?); very poor value for money; expensive to repair.
General Comments
We bought a Dyson DC05 a few years ago and very soon the cable rewind mechanism failed, allowing the cable to slowly rewind into the drum when the vacuum was in use resulting in a dangerously hot cable within the rewind mechanism. We had to fully extend the cable and put a strong peg on it to stop it rewinding itself. Eventually the cable frayed inside the drum as well, a problem noted by other reviewers on this site.
We also found the claims about bagless suction means longer lasting suction to be cobblers. We live in a fully-carpeted house, and found the filter needed to be washed every few weeks to maintain suction. It is quicker and easier to replace a bag.
We have retired our DC05, and will be replacing it with a Miele!
