Good Points
Everything - a truly brilliant film.
General Comments
The film Forrest Gump follows the life of, well, Forrest Gump. He is simple boy with a low IQ who goes on to do great things. The film is told by Forrest himself while he is waiting for a bus. Starting with his childhood, moving onto his time at college, serving in vietnam, playing ping pong for america, running a multi national shrimp company, meeting more than one american president and being a major share holder in a small 'fruit and veg company' are all just small parts of his life.
Forrest Gump also manages to unwittingly stumble into some major parts of history including for instance the watergate scandel and using modern graphics techniques he is merged into archive footage of the actual footage so it looks like he was really there.
This film also details his relationships with his mother and only child hood friend Jenny who we meet a number of times in this film - in parts this film is hilarious and at others heart braking - it won 6 accademy awards including best picture and in my opinion deserved every one of them. Tom Hanks is perfect in the lead role and I urge you to see this film if you haven't already.
