Ge Gss25jfmc Cc....not All I Thought It Would Be...
On the positive side: The fridge looks nice and is easy to keep clean. I love the roominess of the shelves and how they adjust and pull out for easy reach. The freezer side as plenty of storage and everything is easy to get too. The temperature nobs are easy to use as well as switching out the water filter when needed. It was a nice fridge when it wasn't acting up.
On the negative side: We bought this fridge 10 years ago and have had constant problems with it after the 4th year. Ge did come out and do the repairs they needed to do within the warranty period but it's been a constant battle of nickel and diming us after that warranty expired. The magnetic door flap on the ice maker has been a constant pain the last 5 years. It needs replacing every few months and costs about $20...that adds up, not to mention the mess it makes when it freezes up the ice and puts frost on everything when it doesn't shut. We've replaced that part several times. We've also replaced the heater freezer side and are currently having a problem with the freezer and fridge not cooling. Our neighbor who is a service man has told us he believes it to be a big repair this time. We are currently trying a few things to see if we can get it to work again without spending money. If it is something major...we will by a different brand...Not GE. I have also had a problem with the handles discoloring. I think this is because it faces the south facing a window that provides sunlight.

No More Ge For Me!
I've had this nearly ten years. Can't afford to purchase another so stuck with this one! Problems since year one! Appliance repair came out one every 6 months to a year. It was costing us a fortune. Ice maker flap that covers the hole where the ice dispenses was needing repair every 6 months. A new part (motor?) would have to be put on over and over again to make the flap close. (Or it would freeze up so ice couldn't dispense. And it would make a mess all over the floor! We finally have up. The flap hole has been closed by stuffing a kitchen rag in the hole and we can no longer use our ice despencer area.
We've had the same problem with the ice maker...over and over again. We've also had ours going on 10 years. We are continuously replacing something on it. The part for the flap runs 20 bucks and that adds up! My husband has even learned how to switch out the part. Couple months ago we spent $150 to replace a thermostat and I think two days ago it's done the same thing...something else has gone on it and I'm determined to buy a new one...one that will hopefully last me for years...not like GE...Won't be buying that brand again that's for sure!

Love It!
I love this fridge/freezer combo... we've owned this unit for about 10-years and have not had one issue with it! The ice make & water dispenser work great, and I love the convenience of having these built right in. There's a ton of storage space and the shelves, etc are super easy to clean!

Freezer Door On Our Ge Gss25jfmc Cc Began To Leak
Freezer door on our GE GSS25JFMC CC began to leak after 2 years. Called for service. Did research and found out it that even though it was past warranty, it was covered because it was a design defect. They replaced both doors. Worked fine for another 8 months. Stopped cooling so I called service again. It corrected itself. Worked for another couple of months and then stopped again. Ice cube dispenser will only dispense crushed ice, not cubes regardless of selector switch position. This problem started 2 years after purchase. Not worth the money.

After My Experience Owning A Ge Appliance, I Will
After my experience owning a GE appliance, I will NEVER purchase another GE product. A refrigerator, for the price, should give you at least ten years of service without any major problems - and five with no problems. The repair man told us that the GE refrigerators have a history of ice dispenser problems, but the company has made no move to correct this problem. We never got our GE GSS25JFMC CC fixed, because even though our unit is only six years old we are planning to purchase a different brand this week, as we are tired of constantly keeping this one running.
This Review Is On The Ge Repair Service. You See W
This review is on the GE repair service. You see within three weeks of getting my new GE GSS25JFMC CC combi refrigerator it broke. It was the coil unit that was blocking and causing the system to fail. I have been stood up on three appointments where they failed to show up when they committed to. You see it's going on two months now and the unit is still broke and GE fails to correct the brand new unit I bought. On the other hand Home Depot is going to take the unit back and eat the cost that GE was not willing to do. I will never buy a GE product again because of the GE service. So buyers beware if you buy a GE product and if you ever have to call the 1-800-GECARES number..Because it seem that they didn't care to keep me as a customer. My hats go out to Home Depot, I'm taking back my GE product and getting another product.
