Good Points
It sort of, seems too, a bit, speed up old Windows 98 PC's with low resources.
Bad Points
Corrupts .dll's on XP. Makes a mess of your registry.
General Comments
The PC Booster product is suitable for inexperienced users who have done a lot of unnecessary button clicking and bad software installations and removals. I.E. if your machine is pretty messed up anyway, you have noting to lose. However, if you are looking for an 8% or so increase in system performance on a PC thats running well anyway DON'T USE THIS!!! It corrupted the .ddl's on my spell checker in Office XP and decreased the performance of my graphics card, making Doom 3 jerky. Not impressed. DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT TO TWEAK YOUR SYSTEM.
However, as a tool to attempt to repair a corrupt system, it isn't too bad.
To be honest, it's the marketing of this product that lets it down. If they didn't state that it will improve the performance of all PC's and sold it as a repair kit I would rate it higher. If you wish to clean up your system, use Regmedic. If you want to tweak your system, use Sandra, do the tweaks manually, and write down what you've done!
The rankings below reflect the claims that this will improve the performance of all PC's. I've said that I wouldn't recommend this to a friend, but it depends on the circumstance. If your PC is already shot, it's worth giving it a go as it did help with a friends PC, but this was in conjunction with Regmedic.
