Sheraton Sharm Hotel Review

Good Points
Easy access to beach. Good food at beach bars. Shuttle bus around the hotel. Friendly staff at Half moon restaurant in resort part of complex. Treatments at Spa excellent.

Bad Points
Rooms basic considering listed as 5 star rating. Food in Half Moon restuarant mediocre. Non smoking areas appeared non exsistent.

General Comments
Just returned from fortnight at Sheraton Sharm Hotel. I Assumed I had booked into Hotel itself but herded round to the resort area. My Room was very basic, the fridge in the room managed to chill stuff after ten days! Our king size bed was two beds pushed together! The Resort catered to the large volume of Italians who holiday here. Food at the Half Moon, which is where you are allocated to eat if on half board and staying in the resort area is uninspiring and caters to the Italian clients, You can eat at other restaurants at the hotel and are discounted 40% off the final bill. This is even if you are on half board basis at the resort. Smoking everywhere particularly awful in restaurant. There are non smoking tables but you are surrounded by smoking tables so it defeats the purpose. There is a shuttle service from the hotel into Nama Bay which you pay for at the main hotel reception. I found Nama Bay to be very commercial and felt like I was somewhere on the Costa del sol and not in Egypt. On the plus side there were loads of beds on the beach and you are provided with towels no need to bring your own. The Spa was a haven for me when my husband went off diving. If you pay for treatments with a credit card they will convert the cost into US Dollars. According to our rep the best hotel in Sharm is the Hyatt Regency. Overall disappointed if you stay in the resort I would class this as a three star and no where near a five star as listed.
