GTA player.'s review of Grand Theft Auto 3 (PS2)

“Any game which allows you to steel police cars, shoot...”

Written on: 05/11/2002 by GTA player. (1 review written)

Good Points
The freedom you have in this game is unlike any other. You can use a variety of different weapons to either follow the missions or take control of the city. The joy of knowing if you push hard enough, the whole army will come after you. This is the first game I have been completely hooked by and one where I have been entertained by weeks and months rather than just days. The ability to travel on several modes of transport also impressed me. Oh yeah, I nearly forgot the joy of pulling up and inviting a "streetwalker" to join me in one of my many flash cars,(everyones done it).

Bad Points
Shame they had to remove the wings from the dodo plane (what were they thinking!) No motorbikes (One thing the old GTA's had that this one didn't)

General Comments
Any game which allows you to steel police cars, shoot down helicopters and ride around in tanks must be good. This game allows you to do all three and still gives you time to try out one of the many missions available on GTA. The graphics are stunning and the game play is great. What has to be commended is the amount of freedom you have to explore the three islands and do just about anything you want. The joy of getting near the end of the game and having gangs and police from all three islands on your tail is a brilliant feeling. All I can say is BRING ON GTA 4, VICE CITY!!!! as this trully will be a work of art.
