Good Points
Friendly staff, good clean rooms, excellent evening meals, inexpensive rates.

General Comments
The Agapinor is an excellent hotel and the staff are a credit to themselves. This was the first time we have travelled independently, and all e-mailed queries sent to the hotel were dealt with quickly and efficiently.

The hotel is located in the upper part of the town, and there are very few bars open on a night in this area. You have to travel down to Kato Pafos to reach the tourist area (about 3km). There is a bus service down, which finishes about 7pm, but there are plenty of taxis about for the trip back (they are relatively inexpensive, but arrange a price before you get in!). A huge plus in terms of the location is the proximity to shoe shops, although my partner may disagree!

We stayed on a half board basis at a very reasonable rate.

Our room was good and cleaned faultlessly each day, and the air conditioning was a blessing. Unfortunately, as previous guests had burnt bed linen and carpets, notices inform that any irons found would be removed and kept in reception until checking out. However, I kept mine in wardrobe and nothing was mentioned.

The evening meals were excellent, with both Cypriot and other 'English' dishes offered, although the restaurant lacked atmosphere. However, only the Head waiter takes meal and drink orders and so on occasions one can be left waiting despite the restaurant being half empty. Shorts, of any description are not allowed in the restaurant, and you will be asked to leave and change, if you attempt it. Breakfast was average, the fruit provided was delicious but the orange juice was a poor relation to squash. Bread and an industrial toaster was left for guests to make their own toast, fantastic as you can avoid have the luke-warm toast often supplied in Hotels, but can be a bit of a scramble if everyone arrives at the same time.

The poolside was kept clean and sun beds were always available (excellent for the middle of August). The hotel bar was also good for those not wanting to go down into Kato Pafos.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be returning to the Agapinor in future.

Mint 1's Response to Pluglet's Review

Stayed at the Agapinor in May/June for 14 nights at half board. Hotel staff - faultless, room and hotel - spotless. The staff was very friendly and bar and snack prices were very comparable. Although area very quiet, the bus service could do with a bit of an update but I guess as the area develops more, this will happen. If you are looking for a bit more of a lively holiday I suggest you stay in the resort and I could recommend the Akti Beach Apartments and the Helios Bay Apartments (family stayed there). However value for money the family run hotel could probably not be bettered. Saved money by booking over the net with Sky holidays too.
