Aerosvit Ukranian Airlines

The plane was pretty basic , no video. Took flight from Kiev to new York. Food was great service onboard was amazing. Departed and srrived on time. Flight was much cheaper than other airlines.I would recommend this airline. Unfortunately their flights have become limited to only a few places now. The only thing I didn't like was the onboard entertainment options apart from that everything was good including the check in counter which was friendly and courteous .

Once the key to my luggage was broken and someone searched money or any other valuable inside as the items in the luggage were mixed. I reported this to the airline but did not ask any compansation. However I was expecting an apology. No body even cared to send any message. They were so busy mixing other people's luggages perhaps !

In the second occasion they terribly damaged the luggage. I filed a report and this time asked compansation. It has been about 5 months still waiting !! I do not think that they ever will return.

It is a cheap airline, yes. But please travel with a very cheap luggage so that you throw it after one trip of course if you can use the same luggage to come back.

It is beyond my understanding how ex soviet system made people so careless and irresponsive and irrespectful towards others. Maybe they are not used to be treated with respect in the old soviet system.

I fly with Aerosvit and Dniproavia.In January i booked award ticket of program Meridian.After few days i bought this ticket.It was more cheaper than the price of standart ticket.It is very enjoyable to get ticket with this price.

Our vacation plans were crashed by Aerosvit Flight VV424 cancelation on Aug 14th 2011. We were flying to celebrate 80-years anniversary of our mother. Unfortunately all arrangements were destroyed due to our arrival delay.

August 14th VV424 flight cancelation took 24 hours out of our vacation from our well planned 5 days trip to Ukraine.

Passengers of the VV424 were not provided with the hotel accommodation as per carrier’s liability in such situation. Although Airosvit Operations Department did not present in Milan Malpensa airport on August 14th and did not do everything possible in order to minimize the delay. The flight VV424 cancelation surely caused further inconvenience to us, especially when we were looking for hotel transportation and reservation at 23:00 on August 14th.

Be aware that Airosvit do not follow EU regulations 261/2004 and applicable rules of the Law on Obligation and Proprietary Rights in Aviation (Official Gazette 132/1998 and 63/08) covering all airlines and General Conditions of Carriage of Airosvit, in situations of flight cancellation, passengers are entitled to the compensation of 250 EUR.

When booking Airosvit flights always bear in might that Airosvit do not reimburse your meal and hotel expenses due to Aerosvit flights cancelation and delay.

Be careful when you are selecting the type of the plane to fly with Aerosvit. This company can change to different type of the plane last minutes before the flight departure.

As a frequent flyer I would strongly recommend to avoid Aerosvit service.

Flew Moscow to Kiev.

Wife discovered gold earings missing (box left, contents taken) after arrival and baggage storage at Ukraina hotel. Hotel staff denied knowledge/responsibility, citing their own experiences of thefts whilst flying through Kiev Boryspil. Police not interested - Moscow blamed Kiev and vice versa.

Have flown through Moscow Sheremetova many times over 10 years without problem and now see/hear Internet/friends reports of thefts whilst flying through Boryspil, so...........

Advice: Don't put valuables in checked baggage, particularly if flying with Aerosvit and/or through Boryspil.

THEFT FROM SUITCASES IN KIEV AIRPORT

I flew London Gatwick to Almaty Kazakhstan via Kiev in Ukraine on Aerosvit yesterday (2nd-3rd April 2011). VV 226 and VV 429.

I was travelling with 6 colleagues.

Each of us experienced THEFT from hold luggage during transfer in Kiev.

Cases were opened, money and jewellry stolen.

On my bag, it is clear that someone moved the zip tags with padlock to the very end of the zip runner. Then the zip was forced open at the end behind the lock. The zip tags were then moved to the other end and the broken zip opened up. Afterwards, the person were able to re-zip and close the open zip back to the other end. It appeared untouched until close inspection.

In my suitcase I was carrying a second smaller case. This was opened and not closed again. My belongings were in a mess. It was obviously searched.

They did NOT steal the DVDs, coffee beans, cheese, PSP games or baby clothes. There was unfortunately money in a trouser pocket. This left me with a broken zip.

Furthermore the case was damaged. It had obviously been mishandled. Material had been ripped and the extending handle was broken.

I know that another collegue had money and a SIM card hidden inside a purse inside a leather case inside a smaller bag. This money was taken.

Other thefts from colleagues included jewellry, a camera and money.

It is clear that there is a problem with airline staff or the ground staff at Kiev.

I will never ever will fly on Aerosvit. Delay 12 hours - NO EXPLANATION. Terrible customer service

Ha ha ha! If you want a laugh, fly Aerosvit! This would have to be the worst example of an airline in the universe. I honestly thought that all the delays I went through was a sign that the company had gone bankrupt in mid-flight. Didn't think I'd ever make it home
