Ravenheat Are Great Boilers

I am a Gas Engineer and have fitted Ravenheat boilers for the last 12 years. There a fantastic boiler to install and maintain.

If I go to a Ravenheat breakdown I have to say most of them are due to poor installation and not flushing the system correctly.

When Ravenheat boilers are installed and service correctly then they will last as long as any other boiler. I am still servicing ravenheats that are 15-20 years old.

Great value for money.

Ravenheat Cs90

I am a gas engineer and have worked with and installed boilers for the last 25 years. we are a leeds based company and i have worked on many ravenheat boilers, i take out quite a lot of ravenheat boilers, normally the boilers i take out are around 15/25 years old and have worked well with very few issues.

To be very fair to ravenheat these boilers are very cheap and seem to be installed quite badly, normally DIY installers,

I know a few companys that fit ravenheat all the time and have very few issues.

Make sure you installer is a gas safe company , check there reviews and you will have a much better chance of your boiler lasting, no matter what brand of boiler to choose.

All in All i would say ravenheat are a very good boiler if fitted correctly and to the instructions but even when badly fitted they still seem to last better than most,

you could spend double the price and buy a boiler with a better name only to find it has the same or simlar componates inside

Appalling Customer Service And Unreliable Engineers.

A so called friend installed mine 18 months ago. The expansion unit is now leaking. Engineer promised between 3 and 5 last Friday. He rang at 5pm, from a withheld number, saying he could come in half an hour, but could I live with it over the weekend? Was promised he would be here between 9.30 and 10 Monday morning.

At 10.30 Monday morning I received a call from the engineer to say he had forgotten to look at his job sheet, could he come at 3. I said this was too late, so he agreed to come at 2. He finally arrived at 2.35. It doesn't sound like much, but I have a 5 year old, and a special needs 3 yr old, and that time of day is usually collecting from school, preparing tea, and bath time. So afternoons really aren't very good. But as I have no heating or hot water, I also don't have much choice,

Customer services sound young enough to be at pre school. They could not provide the engineers number, I had to hold the line whilst they rang him. When I explained I'd been waiting since the previous Friday, they laughed and said oh well at least he's here now, outside your house. So all in all, a very frustrating experience, which I had to cancel a docs appointment, and arrange for friends and family to collect my kids from school and nursery. I would not recommend this boiler to anyone. We took it to save money, I wish we'd spent a bit more.

Really, Really Terrible Boiler

I have had all kinds of problems since this combi boiler was fitted by an inept supposedly gas registered fitter only 3 years ago. After switching it off, it is v. problematic to get it working again. I have had to get it repaired 4 times already. I am saving up to get a replacement reliable boiler. Never buy Ravenheat!

Never Buy Anything Ravenheat

these boiler are c-rap, I had one installed about 10 years ago now it has only ever worked properly for a few days at a time and that is after an engineer has been out to look at it.

I have suffered exactly the same problems as I have read in other reviews of this terrible beast, spent hundreds of pounds on it and it is still c-rap, I had three parts replaced last time the divert-er valve/diaphragm looked like it had been in a fire or dunked in acid it was so perished. and alas although the heating did work for a few weeks it has packed up but managed to have hot water for while, even though I'd have to leave the hot tap on full bore for several mins before any hot-ish water came out of it

avoid these useless horrible unreliable bits of c-rap or have years of grr arrr fa fa fa etc etc

HA HA I rang the company today ee by heck they know how to big up their beasts and avoid blame, excuses like it might be installed on the wrong wall, pipe worked not done correctly, mains gas pressure incorrect, not installed correctly from the start, odd how they can stay that when it was supposed to be an approved company!!

Any way DON'T buy one unless you enjoy being cold on a regular basis, enjoy having to boil kettles to wash dishes, don't like baths but you love showers, I'm not sure how much noise they are or aren't supposed to make but I'm kinda hard of hearing n mine get on my bloomin nerves

Ravenheat Ls80t Only If Your A Determined Diyer!

Been at our property for about 7 years, have a ravenheat LS80 T which was there when we moved in so it probably 8 to9 years old now. If I were not such a diy'er this would have been replaced a few years ago. The problem is some of the parts are poor quality: diverter valve diaphragm needs replacing every couple of years otherwise the hot tap water needs you to open the tap more and more beforetheboiler fires up. The auto air vent usually needs replacing too. The built in valves (to turn on or off the ch or dhw feeds and returns) no longer work (the seals have all perished so if you tryand close the valves water leaks out from the levers). The secondary heat exchanger needs regular descaling (every couple of years- and I already have a descaler fitted to the house mains and a magnaclean on the dhw return and religiously keep the circuit dosed with inhibitor!). I wouldn't recommend the boiler to any normal person. But here's the thing, if you know what to replace, how and where to buy the bits it's one dirt cheap boiler to maintain. I'm no engineer but I manage to keep it working well by understanding what's wrong. Usually the actual bits that fail, apart from the circuit board which hasn't failed yet, don't require the whole part to be replaces. For example the diverter valve assembly is mainly metal so when the diverter diaphragm fails you don't replace the whole thing but disassemble it and fit a new diaphragm. That alone saves about 150 quid. The other thing is time, you need lots of it to do it yourself and for landlords out there you're probably not going to have that luxury or be covered for diy but for the home owner like me this approach has saved me something like 2 grand so far. Ok I will need to replace the boiler some time soon but im just pointing out that it needn't cost loads to keep a piece of cack like this working, some of us don't have the cash to quickly replace a boiler.

Ravenheat Boilers Last Only 2 Years

Brand new Ravenheat boiler fitted two years ago, heat exchanger burst filled kitchen with water. A new heat exchanger costs £360 plus fitting. I would definitely not recommend these boilers.

Problems/breakdowns After 5 Years

I have a Ravenheat boiler (not sure of the model).

It worked fine for the first 5 years with no breakdowns or problems.

The last 3 years it has broken down on a regular basis so we are going to install a new boiler from a different manufacturer.

Problems started about 3 years ago - different problems but one problem was the hot water would go hot and cold intermittently. The first two engineers I called out could not find the fault but a third engineer found the fault and fixed it. However it only stayed fixed for a year and then the hot water goes hot and cold intermittently again.

I'm not sure if this is a common fault with condensing combi boilers in that I know of other people with different manufacturers boilers (eg Ariston, Worcester, Vaillant as well as Ravensheat) who also say they sometimes have problems with the water going hot and cold when running a tap.

Perhaps the old boilers that worked with a hot water tank were better/more reliable. Especially if you also had electric immersion heating as this was very reliable.

Never Buy A Ravensheat Boiler!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had nothing but trouble with the boiler from day 1. I had a three year warranty and they will not answer calls to fix it they will not give you answers to your questions and they will certainly not provide any customer support. They are rude and obnoxiousness and speak to people like dirt!!!! There is nothing at all that I like about Ravensheat and wouldn't suggest one to my worst enemy!! What ever you do stay clear of Ravensheat!!Unless you want to pay for breakdowns when you have a warranty!!!
