“Compared to other epics along this line i.e. Spartacus...”

Good Points
A greek fable to rank amongst the best, Troy has fantastic scenery great fight scenes and in Helen a beauty worth fighting for, the portrayal of achilles would I am sure have met with approval from the hero himself.

Bad Points
The horse, I know the greeks didn't have long to build it but my next door nieghbours seven year old could have made the thing look better than the film makers achieved and when the horse is actually wheeled into the city of troy the film makers stray from the story as I know it for the only time during the movie.

General Comments
Compared to other epics along this line i.e. Spartacus and Gladiator, Troy has now become my favourite. From the start Achilles as you gripped and the story portrays him as he was a great fighter not a god. In Helen, Paris really did find a beauty and the Greeks rose as a nation to fight for her back. The fight scenes I believe are as good as the return of the king battles and the story is spot on apart from one slip when the Greeks emerge from the horse inside Troy.

All in all the best film I have ever seen.
