Ford Contour 2.0 DOHC V4 Review

Good Points
Good points - The best of all is the look of the car, It's very comfortable to drive, hugs the road great, great brakes, the motor, It has a 2.0 i4 dohc, It's the GL series. It's one of the fastest Sedans on the road for a 4 cylinder. Gives you that sporty feeling when your driving it.

Bad Points
The Ford Contour is the most unreliable engine I think Ford has ever came out with, Parts are very very high in price, and it seems like theres always somthing wrong with it. Mine has been chewing up my timing belt for some reason. Have over $800.00 in it, and it's still doing it. I made an appointment at the Ford dealership now, im sick of it, I want it fixed and I mean fixed, $800.00 for two timing belt installations. I believe it needs a new timing belt pully and tensioner. The whole front of the motor needs to be replaced, even the serpentine belt along with its tensioner. The bolts Ford uses in the motor is of very poor quality for motors of todays standards. My motor only has 64,500 miles on it,1998 model, The suspension makes all kinds of wierd noises, Rides like a log wagon, way to much road niose. The seats don't even work, they won't recline or go up and back. It's like there welded in the car. I hate to say it but this is the worst car i've ever bought in my life. I could go on an on but I better just leave my opinon at this, don,t buy the contour with the 4 cylinder in it, unless you want to spend every penny you make on it, to just try an keep it on the road.

General Comments
The Ford Contour is the most unreliable automobile i've ever bought. Most of the problem is the motor, the 2.0 liter DOHC is of very poor quality. If you by a Contour you better get the 6 cylinder version. Otherwise you made a bad mistake. I've always owned Ford's but this car is gone as soon as we can get it fixed. Not even going to give it a second chance, it's that bad. The worst mistake me and my wife have ever made together. Yes I've called Ford this whole review but they deserve it with this car.No wounder they discontiued this car, they knew what it was, I bet they lost money on this model on warranty work for sure, piece of rubbish. I've never written a bad review on a car like this, but believe me, it deserves it 100%. Thanks for your time, and I hope I learned someboy about how this 4 cylinder is a money bag to keep running.
