Philips DVD-R70 Review

Good Points
easy to setup ,6 hour recording ,if you mess the disc up you can format it or lock the disc if you have something good on it ,works great with sky+ box

Bad Points
the manual is rubbish ,no ffw buttons you have to go to the menu all the time to do it ,firmware upgrades are 4 hours long on a 56k dail up

General Comments
After my dvd player died, poor thing.i thought it was time to buy a dvd recorder as i am a fan off wrestleing luckly i have a place called richersound in my city where the Philips DVD R70 is £235 muti-region ,it was very easy to setup, the manual is rubbish it does it all on the tv for you ,just one scart lead in the tv and one in the sky+ vcr socket tape anything on sky then when its done go to the sky planner and press the red copy button on the sky remote it then tells the recorder to come out off standby and record, i love it. Also it can format your disc if you dont want what you recorded or lock it so no one can record over it ,the new firmware is better but if you want to upgrade the firmware on a 56k dail up you are looking at 4 hours
