General Comments
I can only assume people walk in off the street and buy without doing any research whatsoever. Well more fool you! Moaning about poor camera, no MMS and no bluetooth (does do headphones). Well it does exactly what it says on the tin!

You have to decide what you want from a phone, how much you are prepared to compromise on features and then decide on a model? Why buy a phone then moan about its lack of features that it never purported to have in the first place!

I wanted a touch screen phone. Period. Bored with traditional phones. I wanted push email. MP3 player and good internet access (specifically with a full page view upon initial download). I wanted to watch movies. I wanted to sync calandar /contact details and music/movies with my Pc. Wanted to take the occasional snap shot. Can live without MMS (especially as its 25pence a text or whatever). Can live without Bluetooth to other phones. (I always have what others want anyway so saves me the hassle of having to bluetooth stuff to others). Anything I don't have I just download it myself from the net!!!

So... iPhone or Blackberry Storm? I bought the Storm. Had it for 14 days, played around with it constantly and sent it back BUT ONLY after trying the iphone which I hadn't done before buying storm. Storm is really for business users as u would expect. The much advertised 'clickable screen' is not all its cracked up to be. Don't get me wrong, its ok..maybe its good...but for me it is not a patch on the iPhone. It does not always respond and the clicking feature began to irritate me slightly. Not a lot. But a bit. The music player IS NOT as good as the iPhone. Its an iPod after all. Tone, volume are all much better. I also found the internet browser and associated features to be superior.

I have seen reviews that say if you have an iPod why bother with iPhone. This may be true. But if you have all your tunes on iTunes why not just automatically sync your library with your iPhone, watch music videos, watch films and sell your Ipod?

Listen dont get me wrong. I liked the Storm (and also tried the G1) a lot. My missus hated it straight away! I was going to keep it until i popped into an o2 shop. The interface on the iPhone is ABSOLUTELY SUPERB from the little coloured shortcuts to the text conversation screens which are like IM. All the little things to numerous to mention here (reponsiveness of screen, push mail (with gmail and yahoo), can sync your info like the blackberry). Oh also the range of games and 3rd party applications is very extensive. All sorts of apps available to read Office docs etc. The GPS and maps feature I also found to be easier to use and superior to the Storm.

VALUE?

Storm (when I was shopping) was £40 pm x 18 months = £720

You need a 16 gig card = £35

TOTAL £755

IPhone was £35 pm x18 months = £630

iPhone with 16 gig memory = £159

TOTAL £789

(tarrifs are similar and make no difference to me - would they to you?)

MY SUGGESTION?

Buy the phone you think you might like. Use it for 14 days then try the iPhone. I would be very surprised if you look back. BUT can you do without a 3 meg camera, bluetooth and MMS? IF NOT then dont even bother with the iPhone its simply not for you. But did you really need me to tell you that?

For me I would pay the £34 difference for using that superb interface for 18 months ( £2 a month) ANYDAY!! It is a phone for the consumer whereas bold is aimed at business users/consumer.

REMEMBER: IT DOES WHAT IT SAYS ON THE TIN!

PPS Im getting a portable iPhone docking station with SUPERB sound for xmas and bluetooth headphones woohoooo lol sad arent I?
