Almost slipper like comfort from the box and supportive enough for an adventurous hiker on varied terrain including extended downhill sections. Done a few hundred miles in them now and no overheating or rubbing anywhere. They are marked size nine uk and i'm usually an eight that's sometimes a nine. The caveat is that they are not at all waterproof. It's not the sole but the upper that let equal amounts in both boots after about 40 minutes in wet grass. Not damp but wet. I'm still glad i got them but would not buy again. When it's wet I jump back into my ancient leather brasher hillmasters. To be fair though my father who rambles globally has the low side shoe version and his do not leek at all so maybe they just forgot membrane in this pair.
