“Not good service today. ”

I've enjoyed good service from these guys in the past, so I took my car there today to have two of the tyre valves replaced. One was successfully dealt with . However, the second tyre wheel wouldn't shift despite three different guys having a go at it with the wrench. Even the drill was used and that never worked. I was charged just short of £19.00 and told that it was for the service I had received today. Must have taken 10 minutes.I was also told that I needed to take my car to the place where I have it serviced for them to loosen the wheel. To be fair, one of the staff, always very helpful, suggested that if it was loosened that he would sort it if I returned it to them. He's always polite and helpful, which is more than I can say for the fellow who took my payment.
Ten minutes later, I took it to my regular servicing people. The mechanic took his wrench to the wheel and released it easily with one turn. He also told me that three of the wheel nuts were loose. He discovered that the treads on the two rear tyres were worn at the rim and barely legal. Both of the car's wheel rims were cleaned and new tyres fitted at a very reasonable cost. Just wish ATS had sorted it themselves as I'd have happily bought the tyres from them if they'd taken the trouble to inspect them and managed to get the wheel off . I'm just baffled as to why three guys, well accustomed to removing car wheels, couldn't on this occasion sort the job out. Sorry lads, you will have to do better to get my business the next time I need anything doing.
