“Amateur and threatening attitude”

written by Chase1994 on 05/10/2017

At first glance the distributers present themselves as friendly and warm, once signed that ends. We took the "daffy gold" package because the numbers presented to us at the time of signing over looked fantastic and far better than what we currently had. We took Gas, Electricity, broadband, mobile phone home phone and the free led light bulbs.

Gas- No Problems

Electricity- We were guaranteed that a fixed meter would be placed into the property once signed over. This never happened. The distributer then lied after the sign over to say he never said anything about fixed meters.

Mobile phone- awful EE service and some other club service. Again The distributer lied when we requested to stay on the o2 network. he said that would be ok but once the paperwork was completed we ended up on a club EE service. We tried to cancel this part of the service first but we were quoted a bill of £966.00 as a termination fee.

Home Phone- Once switched the home phone never worked for 10 months! and they blamed our previous supplier Virgin Media for the problem. We contacted Virgin Media and BT to have the lines checked and both Virgin and BT said the line was never switched to the Utility Warehouse network that was supplied by Talk Talk. We have just finished a long period of communication with the Ombudsman to have our previous line reinstated as Utility Warehouse and Talk Talk blocked the line. When we first mentioned that the home, Who had a pensioner staying at the address had no working phones and for months they said we should go next door and use the neighbours phone if we really needed a phone. 10 Months without a home phone!

FREE LIGHT BULBS- We had free led light bulbs installed because they were free. Once the installation of the bulbs was completed we were asked to sign the work document to confirm that we were happy with the work that was carried out but this turned into an acceptance to pay a fee towards the "FREE LIGHT BULBS"

We had 10 months of hellish arguments with various people within their company trying to sort this and you could never speak to the same person twice. The attitude and glaring amateur nature of this company is embarrassing. Embarrassing also on our part as we fell for their talk during the signing process.

I would never recommend this company- I was recruited as a distributer and got first hand experience of how they conduct themselves when signing a customer. I happily did not sign anyone over but got a good insight to how they operate.

AVOID Utility Warehouse and stick to the major companies.
